Reverse Engineering
Introduction
Reverse engineering is analyzing a product, taking it apart, documenting your findings, and creating ways to improve said product. There are 3 steps to reverse engineering, Visual, Functional, and Structural Analysis.
Visual Analysis is using the elements and principles of design to analyze a product. In this step you conclude what makes the product visually appealing or appalling.
Functional Analysis is understanding what the product's purpose is and how parts of the product work, and what you get out of the product when you apply something such as force.
Structural Analysis is taking the object and measuring things such as the dimensions (height, width, and depth), weight, mass, and density. These can be taken with a dial caliper, a scale, and simple math
After these are completed a program such as Inventor can be used to 3D model the product.

Actual Isometric View
This view shows the contrast between the orange and tan parts of the car. The shiny orange is emphasized against the tan color and catches the eye first. The consistent smooth texture and shiny surface creates unity across the car. An imaginary line down the middle would create balance with symmetry.
This isometric view shows that all of the wheels are proportional and are all the same color and material, which gives them unity. The material of the body, tire, window, rim, and spoiler all contrast each other. The entire car is very simple and provides economy. An imaginary line across the wheels would represent how the wheels are vertically and horizontally symmetrical, giving them balance.
This left view shows that the tires of the wheels are dull, emphasizing the shining silver wheels. The odd shape creates no balance of color 0r symmetry. The rims of the wheels have radial balance and the design of them create a regular rhythm around the axis. The materials of the window, tire, rim, body, and spoiler all contrast each other, along with the silver, orange, and tan across the car.
Functional Analysis

The axle has a lip that keeps the wheel in place. To take the wheel off or put it on, enough force will make the lip subside and contract until the wheel is on or off.
There is a groove at the back of the connector pieces that locks into place with a lip in the receiving piece. With enough force these can be easily pulled apart.
The raised ridged pattern on the body connector allows it to be easily pulled out when pressing them both together with your fingers and pulling them out.
The shape of the bottom of the passengers and the corresponding cut-outs in the passenger insert are easily connected with force, and friction will keep them together. This is made so to be easy for children to put together.
The design of the window and the middle body part can be connected with friction. This is also for children to easily put these together.
